SENIOR BIOINFORMATIC ANALYST

Our laboratory studies Huntington’s Disease (HD), an inheritable neurodegenerative disease. The goal is to contribute to the understanding of its underlying pathophysiology and to develop pharmacological, genetic and cellular strategies that can slow down the course of the illness or prevent its onset. The project will focus on the analysis of a diverse set of data from PacBio SMRT sequencing data to next generation sequencing data. The candidate will be working in a collaborative environment within a bioinformatics unit. We are seeking highly motivated candidates to implement cutting-edge high-throughput bioinformatics analysis.

PRE- AND POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS in STEM CELL BIOLOGY

The laboratory is looking for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to work on two projects whose aim is to study neuronal development in Huntington’s Disease (HD).

The first project focuses on the differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into medium spiny neurons (MSNs) and their development, in order to investigate their potential therapeutic use in cell replacement therapies.

The second project focuses on the development and implementation of genome editing approaches on mouse embryonic stem cells to screen for genes influencing the HD phenotype. Expertise in molecular biology is required.
